Past
Over the years we at Curlbrook have loved, owned and or bred some special curlies. It was our privilege to share our life with these wonderful dogs and bitches. Curlies have a way of leaving their paw prints on your heart, they were a large part of our family, sharing in our children and grandchildren, often swimming in the dam with them or just being curlies running around our property or swimming in the dam. These curlies also excelled in the showring, etc. and were strong examples of the breed.
Ch Keysteel Piastre "Zac" a loyal friend with a whacky sense of humour, devoted to his family. He achieved much during his show career 3 BOB Royal Melbourne Show, BOB Royal Adelaide Show, Point Score Curly for 3 years, Best Sire & Progeny in breed for over six consecutive years, Multi Class In Group and In Show Awards. Zac sired the first Grand Champion Curly in Austra "Gr. Ch. Curltriever Dr Feelgood" Sanders.
Ch. Curlbrook Flyn's Victory "Reuben" a gentle dog with a huge heart, loved life - had a successful show career and more importantly loved the swimming and retrieving.
Ch Blazeaway Victory Lap "Jedda" a great companion with a protective nature, at her happiest swimming or just laying on the couch. Showing was not her first love but she achieved many big wins including BOB at the CCRV Champ Show, RUBOB at Melbourne Royal and RUBOB at Royal Adelaide Show, as well as many In Group, In Show wins at various shows. She had 4 litters and her progeny still lives with us today.
Ch. Curltriever Paws T Rember "Flynn" was Ch. Keysteel Piastre's "Zac's" son, he was a happy, loving dog, just needed to be with you, he loved to hunt and he achieved great results at the showring, particularly competing with other breeds, he loved people and was always first to greet any visitors.
Ch. Curlbrook Last Tango "Tango" daughter of Ch. Blazeaway Victory Lap "Jedda". Tango, bred at Curlbrook achieved her title and BOB at Royal Adelaide Show at 18 months of age. She is a delight to live with, very devoted to us and would protect when needed. Sadly, our beautiful Tango passed over the Rainbow Bridge. She is missed by all here at Curlbrook but lives on through her offspring, and subsequent generations of Curlbrook.
Pendaltrie Betalathaneva "Betty Boop". Betty Boop or Boop as she was affectionately known was a typical liver curly girl - full of sass and always the centre of attention! Boop hailed back to our original lines and had a major impact on our present and future curlies. Boop lived to the grand old age of 14 and is sorely missed by all of us here at Curlbrook. She was a true lady.
Curlbrook Scarlett O'Hara - "Elli". Whelped 26/6/2010. Pictured here with her daughter Poppy at 6 years old. A happy and playful girl who loved a cuddle and was our youngest daughter Niamh's constant companion until her untimely death at 8 years old of an anaphylactic reaction to swallowing a wasp. Elli continues to live on in our kennel through her daughter Poppy and grand-children Rumble, Betty, Yindi and Ayla.
